On his latest track ‘SHARKS’ Bangor singer/songwriter ‘Bear Holland’ has teamed up with London producer/remixer Paul Castle whose production credits include: Eminem, Marc Almond, Coldcut, Juliet and The Licks, Ian Van Dahl, Sash, Blondie and Transvision Vamp amongst others.
The track ‘SHARKS’ is featured on the latest edition of ‘The White’ the leading British record industry compilation listened to by all the major UK and Ireland DJs, producers and Record Companies.
SHARKS will be released as a download on 23rd DECEMBER
available from www.overplay.co.uk/bearholland and I-Tunes and Napster will follow in the New Year.
BEAR HOLLAND: ‘The Second Coming EP’ is already available for download via I-Tunes, Napster and Turmic Records.
2007 has been very successful for the Bangor born Bear Holland (real name Andrew Holland) having played a variety of gigs and showcases throughout London. These have included support slots for ‘Ace’ (guitarist from Skunk Anansie) and ‘The Bad Robots’ (Channel 4’s ‘T4 Mobile Act Unsigned’ Finalists).
Bear Holland also reached the semi-final of the UK Songwriting Contest 2007 and came runner- up in the www.overplay.co.uk Play and Rate competition (Reviewed and rated by a panel of music industry judges including A&R reps from: Epic, EMI, Polydor/Fiction Records, Musik1, Karma 360, Mighty Atom, Modernwood Management, We Are Listening and ‘Novello’ winner Paul Field).
In his review of ‘SHARKS’ Paul Field ('British Academy of Song Writers' Novello Prize winner ) commented: ‘Prepare to be seduced by slick beats and sly Michael Hutchence-esque vocals in this glossily produced slice of modern pop music.’

SHARP PRACTISE AWARD WINNING WEBSITE
The Glasswerk New Music Awards
are to reward the best new music around the UK
and to highlight the musical depth and diversity
of the current UK music scene. From Jazz to Indie,
from Pop to Folk, all categories will be made
up of the very best underground talent in the
UK and we fully expect some of the award winners
to go on to achieve long and successful careers
in the music industry.
Following a summer of voting via Musicfinity.com,
the winning nominees have been confirmed. The
awards night will be made up of 25 categories
and will feature video link performances from
some of the nominated bands and artists.
A 300 capacity audience will be made up of industry
producers from Radio 1, Radio 2, XFM, BBC 6 and
many more regional new music shows. Journalists
and reviewers form student to mainstream music
magazines/ezines will also be present. The night
will also see an exclusive video link performances
from Exile Parade, Smith 6079, The Crucible, Karim
Fanous, Logan, The Cutters and many more.
The Glasswerk New Music Awards want to get themselves
firmly established on the musical calendar and
more importantly highlight the breath taking array
of music talent in the UK.
We won the Best Website category. I collected
the award from former Terrorvision frontman Tony
Wright. In my acceptance speech I especially thanked
Mike Barnett, the band's webmaster, for putting
such a great site together. Recipients of other
awards on the night included Koopa, the band who
recently made UK chart history by breaking into
the British Top 40 on downloads only.
The link to our award winning website (which also
features in the latest edition of The Little Black
Book Of Band Profit Secrets) is www.sharppractise.com.

Over the past few months Brylcreem
have been running the BRYLCREEM EFFORTLESS
COMPETITION in a bid to find a song/songs
for their new promotional campaign. They were accepting
submissions from bands on myspace and all over
the world. I half-heartedly submitted "Colder"
on behalf of The Indie Soul Movement. Myspace
has a wealth of musical talent so the odds of
standing out can be slim.
It turns out " Colder" was quite a popular
submission and has been selected as one of Ten
songs to appear on a downloadable album which
will be launched on the new Brylcreem website
soon.
The Indie Soul Movement has agreed to let them
use the song as advertising and music are so closely
linked and one can benefit the other in alot ways.
more details will be provided real soon....

Hi Everyone.
I'd like to take the opportunity to thank you all
for your continued support, in whatever form that
might take. Some of you may already know that I've
been given a songwriting achievement award as finalist
in Song of the Year 2007 for my latest single, 'Sound'.
The competition is global and and the song came
second of thousands of entries in the electronic/
dance section in February's round. That basically
means it was within the top 24 best songs in that
category of the year.
The competition is supported by VH-1 and is judged
by top music industry celebrities including Grammy
award winners.
As a result, 'Sound is automatically put forward
to all aspects of the industry for wide promotion. It
has also been re entered for April's round, as has
'The White Line', and the as yet unheard, new secret
weapon single ('Fruit Machine') from my upcoming
album which will be released later in the year.
Fingers crossed!
You can view the award at the following link (a
page set up by www.songoftheyear.com to prove the
authenticity of the announcement). http://www.songoftheyear.com/webawards/i/izzievoodoo.htm
Thanks once again,
Best,
Izzie Voodoo
